First Nations Development Institute was founded in 1980 with the objective of strengthening American Indian economies to support healthy Native communities. First Nations invests in and creates innovative institutions and models that strengthen asset control and support economic development for American Indian people and their communities. Its focus is on achieving Native financial empowerment, investing in Native youth, strengthening Tribal and community institutions, nourishing Native foods and health, advancing household and community asset-building strategies, and stewarding Native lands.
Your donation will help First Nations' work with improving economic conditions for Native Americans through technical assistance and training, advocacy and policy, and its national grantmaking program, which has managed almost 2000 grants totaling more than $40.2 million to Native American projects and organizations in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Territory American Samoa.
