Scholarship America has supported students for more than 60 years. Founded in 1958 by an optometrist, Dr. Irving Fradkin, with the premise that if everyone in his community gave just a dollar to a scholarship fund, it would be enough to help every student in the community attend college. Not only did it work, Scholarship America is now the nation’s largest nonprofit, private scholarship organization. Scholarship America works directly with students, parents, colleges, businesses, and communities to help students fulfill their college dreams. The organization has distributed more than $4.3 billion to more than 2.6 million students since its founding.
