Started in 1954 as the first known U.S. delivery by a small group in Philadelphia, Meals On Wheels America's mission is to support senior neighbors to extend their independence and health as they age. Meals On Wheels has grown from a compassionate idea to one of the largest and most effective social movements in America with delivery in virtually every community in the country. Millions of volunteers enable 221 million meals to be delivered to 2.4 million seniors each year.

Your donation will help support not just the delivery of meals, but also frequent in-home visits that will help meet nutritional needs, combat social isolation, address safety hazards, and provide holistic care. 2 out of 3 recipients say their meals comprise half or more of the food eaten that day. 58% of recipients live alone and the person delivering the meal will be the only person they see that day. Daily home delivered meals keep 8 out of 10 recipients who have fallen from falling again, and Meals on Wheels can serve a senior for an entire year vs. about the cost of 1 day in the hospital or 10 days in a nursing home.
